Hey,. I tried to create an acceptable recording of a thunderstorm. Unfortunately i live near a freeway, so it was impossible to filter out the car noises. . . And also the wind blows a little disturbingly into the mic. . . Anyway, the recording turned out better than expected. Feel free to use it for whatever u could need it for. . . . I recorded with a zoom h4n in 44. 1khz wav quality.

Rain falling softly into a puddle of rainwater by my back basement door. Some peals of thunder can also be heard softly in the background. Recorded fairly close.

This is a field recording, done using a zoom h6 with attached stereo mic. The limiter (general type) was activated on the channel. This is the raw recording without any eq or dynamics added. A quick normalization gave a nice, rich signal that you might be able to use for any purpose. Apply a low pass filter to cut out the rain. Well, enjoy. :). More of this will be uploaded.

The thunder from a single bolt of lightning, recorded in johor bahru, malaysia mid-afternoon october 2022. It hadn't yet started raining when i recorded this. The recording device was the inbuilt stereo microphones of the zoom h5.

In friend’s garden at the evening (20h30). Theneuille (center of france) , 2016/8/15, recorded with a zoom h5, countryside mood with thunders far away , high pass at 80 hz. We can ear the clipping microphones on the first stroke.

The recording is slightly edited to prevent it from being too long. The recorder was placed under a picnic area roof, so the water is dripping from that. I think you can almost hear the storm passing from approximately right to left. Recorded using a (slightly wet) zoom h2 in 4 channel surround mode. Recorded with a zoom h1 n. This is similar to rain-on-veranda-roof-and-window-glass. Wav except instead of recording on the window sill, the device is hand-held aloft in the middle of the veranda and closer to the ceiling. The rain on roof sound is louder and less rain can be heard striking the glass windows. It's a typical intense winter rain storm with wind gusts and driving rain in the month of january on vancouver island.

This is a recording of the wind whistling between the cracks in the window, creating very unpleasant unpeaceful atmosphere (with occasional very quiet blind scratching against the window). Made with canon camcorder.

Also used a few patches from a symsynth to build the thunderclap and some of the rain effects. Added some delays, reverb, compression and eq as well as splitting several tracks and offsetting them to create a spacial soundscape.

Recorded this in the attic of a old building with a wood construction during a storm. Lots of wood crackling and wind whistles without any direct wind in the microphones. Zoom h1 and mastered with supreme analog gear.
